NYU Tandon School BSME Degree Program

Leonard Gulotta, a New Jersey resident, has been a partner with AKF Group in New York for nearly 30 years. Before coming to AKF Group, Leonard Gulotta attended the Polytechnic Institute of New York, graduating in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and making the dean's list on multiple occasions.

While the Polytechnic Institute of New York is now the New York University Tandon School of Engineering, it still provides the same high-quality education as it did three decades ago. Its bachelor of science in mechanical engineering program seeks to equip students with the core engineering skills of problem solving, system design, and team functioning.

In the early years of the program, students take basic math and engineering courses that form the foundation for all later knowledge. They move on to courses in computer-aided design, electricity, materials science, and data analysis, enabling them to effectively design objects, test those objects, and understand the results of those tests. In the final year of the program, students with a high GPA are allowed to take graduate-level engineering courses for program credit, with approval.
